A Corozal man remains at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital fighting for his life after being stabbed several times on La Isla Bonita. Twenty-year-old Robert Sanker, a resident of Carolina Village, was stabbed several times during a fight in San Pedro Town. Sanker was then transported to the San Pedro Clinic and later brought to Belize City via air ambulance. Police spokesman, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood spoke about what investigators have so far found out about the matter.

Island stabbing victim in critical conditions at KHMH

A resident of San Pedro Town, identified as Robert Sanka, was admitted in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) in Belize City after being stabbed on Sunday, October 17th, near the Boca del Rio area. A second person was reportedly stabbed, but the individual was stabilized, treated, and released from the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II. Sanka needed further medical attention and was transported to the mainland.

According to police, Sanka got into a fight on Sunday and was beaten up and stabbed multiple times in the abdomen. He needed to be airlifted to the KHMH, where he is listed in critical condition. They were playing basketball at Boca del Rio when suddenly they started fighting.

Police continue to investigate the incident and have yet made any arrests.
