Moist and unstable conditions continue to dominate our weather. Advisories: A flood watch is in effect for the possibility of flooding over low-lying and flood prone areas. 24-hour forecast: Cloudy skies today with sunny breaks, along with out breaks of showers, isolated thunderstorms and periods of rain developing mainly along coastal areas at first and then moving over inland areas by afternoon. Tonight and tomorrow morning skies will be cloudy with some outbreaks of showers, thunderstorms and periods of rain developing over most areas. Sargassum Forecast from October 19 to October 27: Latest satellite imagery suggests that sargassum in our area continues to decrease. However, there is still a small chance that a few mats could drift into some areas during the next few days. San Pedro has a low probability and a minimal impact. For the forecast, high pressure building N of the area will bring fresh to locally strong trades E of the Windward Islands through Sun. The Atlantic basin remains quiet with no organized tropical systems and no tropical development expected through at least this weekend.

The tropical season still has several weeks left as it runs through the end of November, so more tropical activity is possible farther down the road. But for the time being, all is quiet in the Atlantic.

There's a broad area of disturbed weather on this Tuesday evening located over the eastern Pacific Ocean a few hundred miles south of the coasts of Guatemala and El Salvador, and it continues to produce widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development of this system during the next several days, and a tropical depression is likely to form by late this week or this weekend while the system moves west-northwestward to northwestward near or just off the coast of southern Mexico. It has a low (10 percent) chance of formation during the next 48 hours and a high (70 percent) chance during the next five days.



We are monitoring tropical waves tracking east to west across the Atlantic basin. At the moment, cyclone development is NOT expected in the Atlantic, thru Sunday October 24, 2021. Tropical waves will bring squally weather across the affected region; thus, enjoy the rain and cooler temperatures. NOTE: There are 6 weeks of hurricane season left this 2021 year. Thus, cyclone development remains possible across the Atlantic basin.

On Ambergris Caye this morning we have rain and much more predicted. The rain gauge overflowed from yesterdays deluge and last nights downpours. The wind is from the East at 10 mph. The sea around our barrier reef is calm. Today's expected high temperature is set at a cool 84 f.

The high level cloud that has been developing in the Western Caribbean is now starting to come to an end, the last of it is presently stationary over Belize, but with the easterly Caribbean winds under it, there is still a lot of rain about, most of it is now north of Belize, but there is a broken line of rain over coastal regions and moving inland.

Looks as if much of today will be cloudy, some heavy cloud and some isolated rain areas for much of the day.

24hr Forecast: Cloudy with sunny breaks over some areas during the daytime and mostly cloudy tonight. Some outbreaks of thunderstorms, showers and periods of rain will continue around the country this afternoon, redeveloping near coastal areas tonight and spreading to affect most areas of the country by tomorrow morning.

Outlook: For Thursday afternoon through to midday on Friday is for a few showers, periods of rain and thunderstorms over most areas, gradually decreasing.







The very active tropical wave no. 40 will be generating storms from strong to strong in the Peninsula today. Two other tropical waves are approaching.

River Conditions

REGION 7 - On the RIO HONDO at Blue Creek North and downstream at Santa Cruz, San Antonio, San Roman, and Douglas to the Coast, all levels are below normal but shows a minimal rise this morning. On the NEW RIVER at Tower Hill and Caledonia, levels are below normal and reported a minimal rise this moming.

REGION 9 - On the MACAL RIVER, reservoir levels at all BECOL facilities remains below the spillways; and at San Ignacio, levels remain below the low-level bridge and steady. On the MOPAN RIVER at Benque Viejo Town, levels are below normal and steady.

On the BELIZE RIVER at Double Run, levels are below normal and falling; and on the CROOKED TREE LAGOON, lagoon levels remain below the causeway and steady.

REGION 11- On the SIBUN RIVER at Freetown Sibun, below normal and steady levels continue. Levels on the SOUTHERN LAGOON at Gales Point Village is above normal and steady. In watersheds on the EASTERN SLOPES OF THE MAYAN MOUNTAINS levels are near normal and rising slowly; and on the SITTEE RIVER at Kendal Bridge, levels are above normal and rising slowly.

On the Swasey and Bladen branches of the MONKEY RIVER, above normal and slowly rising levels was recorded this morning. On the DEEP RIVER at Medina Bank, levels are below normal and slowly rising. On the RIO GRANDE at San Pedro Columbia, near normal and a minimal rise was recorded the morning; and at Big Falls South, levels are below normal and steady. On the MOHO RIVER at Blue Creek South and Jordan, above normal and slowly rising levels was recorded this morning. On the TEMASH RIVER at Crique Sarco, levels are below normal and shows a minimal rise.

REGION 13 - On the SARSTOON RIVER, levels are normal and steady.
