Police in San Pedro Town continues their investigation into the death of 20-year-old Abrie Tuyul. Tuyul was eight months pregnant and found motionless on the bathroom floor of her home on Friday evening, October 22nd, in the San Pedrito subdivision. Police suspect foul play, and since then, her common-law husband has been detained. The results of a post-mortem to determine the cause of Tuyul's death are expected to shed more light on this latest death on the island.
According to an official report, Tuyul was at home with her two-year-old child and common-law husband. Neighbors claim they heard an argument between her and the common-law husband. After some time, reports indicate that the young child was seen sitting at a window from around 3PM, and it was some time after 5PM that the common-law husband came out of their apartment asked one of the neighbors for money to buy a smoke. The police report says that at that time, he did not mention anything about the whereabouts of his common-law wife until a few minutes later when he said that Tuyul apparently hurt herself. Police say they are investigating this death from different angles and believe that due to the nature of the incident, they are ruling out suicide.

San Pedro woman found dead; boyfriend detainedPolice are investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman who was found in the San Pedrito area of San Pedro Town on Friday evening.
The deceased woman, Aubrie De Tuyul, was the mother of one child and was reportedly eight months pregnant - soon to give birth.
Her body was found by San Pedro police, who were called by Tuyul's neighbors after they were told by her common-law husband, still unnamed, that she had hurt herself.
But prior to his eerie remarks, those in the area heard a tumultuous argument taking place in Tuyul's home, and her young child, according to police, was seen at the window of the house from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., looking outside. In the evening, around 5:00, Teul's common-law husband exited the house and asked a neighbor for money to buy a "smoke" before stating that Tuyul "had hurt herself."
When police later entered the home, they found her lifeless body hanging in the bathroom, according to local reports.
"We believe that due to the nature leading up to her being discovered, that it has warrant us to believe that something other than suicide has occurred," Communications Director of the Police Department, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood told local media.
Police investigations are still ongoing, and they are awaiting the results of a postmortem examination of Tuyul's body to determine whether the incident was a murder.
According to neighbors of the couple, the two frequently had domestic altercations which could be heard by those living in the area. Police believe that one such incident may have climaxed, possibly leading to the victim's death.
