We are planning a trip the first week of december. May I ask a few questions? First off it has been 10 years since my last visit...

1. How stringent are they on the covid restrictions?
2. I read that you cant eat in a restaurant if you are not vaccinated? Is this true?
3. Does this pertain to belly up bar drinks? We like to sit in a bar and meet people, is this not possible?
4. Is this mask mandate being enforced? Like if we are eating or drinking do we have to put the mask on in between drinks and such?
5. Do the speed boats still take you to the island, or is it only by air now?
6. It appears things have grown a bunch in the last 10 years, where is a nice hotel going to be located?

1. authorities expect people to comply (most are)
2. after 22 Nov vax cards not required for dining
3. Belly-up bars not operating (but things change ..... not sure how it will be in December)
4. you do not need to mask up between bites or drinks, but if you get up from your table to move about you are expected to mask up again
5. water taxis are operating - two serve the island
6. there are many nice hotels located all over the place

the legal edicts are the same - cannot comment on level of enforcement from place to place - but please help us contain Covid. It is not a terrible inconvenience, and we would sincerely appreciate it ...... even if you don't agree, please work with us ....... we want to keep us all safe and if we err on the side of caution, so be it. We're doing our best. Come, enjoy and fall in love with Belize all over again.
