Fresh to strong trades prevail in the south-central Caribbean, with the strongest winds occurring within 100 nm of NW Colombia. Fresh winds are also ongoing through the NW Caribbean, with moderate to fresh winds elsewhere. Seas of 4-8 ft are prevalent in the Caribbean Sea, with the highest seas occurring off NW Colombia.

For the forecast, the shear line will dissipate today. High pressure building in from the north will cause winds to increase across the basin, with strong winds expected offshore Colombia south of Hispaniola. A cold front may approach the Yucatan Channel Fri.

The old saying, " Joe North is coming accompanied by Raymond Waters, time to chase Cock Roach ".
( meaning that a cold front was coming, accompanied by rain, so it was time to get out your coverings from wherever you place them. )

Believe you me, that cold weather with rain really stins. - Very, very, Very penetrating they would say.

I once asked a family of mine what difference she saw between their cold in the USA and that in Belize ? Her answer was, that in the United States, once you had three layers on you, your scarf and your gloves you were ready to go, WHILE in Belize, the darn cold looks for any little hole and it penetrates.

BUT there was an old remedy to cold weather in Belize. You get a few local newspaper, crimple them and place them under your clothes, especially on top a your Belly Button. - As the song goes, "Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow."
AND the other remedy was, to get a Red or Blue seam Crocus bag, where imported beans used to come. Take it to the river, wash it good with Maestre Blue soap and put it to dry in the sun, WOW. When it got really COLD you get into it at night and you never need any blanket or sweater to sleep. - - ( Shsh sh sh no tell nobody. This da one secret. )

We have a wet Ambergris Caye with a little sunshine this morning. The wind is from the North at 13 mph. The cool weather of late is a refreshing break. Today's expected high temperature is predicted to be 82f.

The easterly Caribbean winds have now firmly taken over, but there is a lot clashing with high level clouds, that are forming as the Pacific SW winds come over the Guatamala and Honduras mountains. Most rain is well out at sea, but being brought in by the easterly Caribbean winds, but reducing as it gets nearer to land.

Most of Belize is very cloudy at present, a little bright in a few places, not clear yet, how much rain will be coming in, but most aiming at central and north areas.

Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )
Last Night 23°C 73°F Yesterday max. 26°C 79°F Yesterday Rain 8.9 mm ( 0.4") Over Night Rain 0.7 mm ( 0.03" )

There are now some areas of rain on land. There is still some traces of cold air pushing down from the north.
