Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

Trade wind convergence along with divergent flow aloft east of a weak mid/upper level trough over Nicaragua are together supporting a few showers and thunderstorms over the far southwest Caribbean, south of 15N and west of 80W. No other significant shower or thunderstorm activity is evident across the Caribbean. A scatterometer satellite from 02 UTC confirmed fresh trade winds across the south-central Caribbean, with strong winds off Colombia. Seas are likely 5 to 7 ft, with seas to 8 ft off the coast of Colombia between Cartagena and Barranquilla. Gentle to moderate winds with 3 to 5 ft seas are noted elsewhere, except for light breezes and slight seas over the northwest Caribbean.

For the forecast, moderate to fresh NE to E winds will persist over all but the NW Caribbean through mid week, with strong winds pulsing off Colombia, mainly at night. A weak front will move through the Yucatan Channel by late Tue, then stall and dissipate over the far northwest Caribbean through Wed. High pressure building north of the front will slightly enhance trade winds across the Caribbean later in the week. Meanwhile, moderate N to NE swell will continue across the Atlantic waters east of 70W and through the NE Caribbean passages through Mon tonight.

A cold front that is being driven by an extratropical low in the Gulf of Mexico maintains cloud cover and scattered rains over the northeastern, eastern and southern states of Mexico. Monday, November 29, the front will extend with stationary characteristics from the north western coast of Cuba to the northern part of the Yucatan peninsula, with some scattered showers. The front will be of short duration but it will favor a slight decrease in temperatures over the nights and dawn at least until the middle of this new week. The arrival of cold fronts in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean is not expected and there would be a pause so that In the next few days the temperatures will begin to increase.

Lovely view this morning .

DThe cool air from the north is now pushing back and pushed the Caribbean winds out to sea in a line of cloud and a little rain in that line. There is high level cloud forming over Honduras and moving rapidly out over the Caribbean away from us.

Looks as if today will be mainly sunny for most with a few clouds forming later, no rain on land. There is a little rain way out at sea.

Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )
Last Night 22°C 72°F Yesterday max. 29°C 84°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0") Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0" )
