The Caribbean Sea
Strong winds are ongoing within 120 nm N of the Caribbean coast
of Colombia, with moderate to fresh trades dominating the much of
the rest of the basin, except for gentle to moderate E winds in
the NW Caribbean. Seas are 5 to 7 ft, except 8 to 10 ft offshore
Colombia and 2 to 4 ft in the NW basin. No significant convection
is ongoing this morning.
The gradient between retreating high pressure to the northeast
and lower pressure over South America will lead to fresh to strong
winds across waters offshore Colombia into tonight, with moderate
to fresh winds elsewhere across the basin. Large N to NE swell
will continue in the tropical N Atlantic into Tue. A cold front
will move through the Yucatan Channel late Tue, then reach an
eastern Cuba to Nicaragua line by Wed night, before stalling.
Fresh N winds can be expected behind this front.
The most recent satellite images show a cold front that spreads from Florida to eastern Mexico with clouds and some showers. Rains and thunderstorm activity are also observed in southern Mexico Campeche, Tabasco and the Yucatan Peninsula, while in Central America showers and storm activity over the central and northern part of Guatemala, and the other countries of Central America and the Caribbean.

On Ambergris Caye this morning the day is predicted to have rain and the sky looks so. The breeze is from the SE at 7 mph. creating a calm sea around our barrier reef. Today's expected high temperature is 85 f.
There is a wall of clouds across the Gulf, the easterly Caribbean winds are being slowed down, so looks as if a cold front is pushing in our way in the next day or so. There is a lot of high cloud from the Pacific, over northern Mexico and the Gulf, which is now sweeping thinner cloud over the Yucatan and over Belize over night and this morning.
Presently there is a lot of cloud over Belize, but fairly thin and patchy, some blue sky some sun coming through, probably little or no rain.
Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 23°C 74°F Yesterday max. 30°C 86°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0") Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0" )
There are a few rain showers around, mostly on the mainland.
Present Condition: Partly cloudy skies, mostly clear in San Pedro. Mainly fair weather will prevail, then a cold front approaches tomorrow afternoon.
24hr Forecast: Sunny with cloudy spells during the daytime and partly cloudy tonight. Showers will be isolated, along isolated thunderstorms developing inland this afternoon and offshore tomorrow morning.
Outlook: (Tue afternoon - midday Wed) Cloudy skies with a few showers and thunderstorms mainly inland and over the north Tuesday afternoon, spreading to most areas Tuesday evening and night, then over the sea and the extreme south Wednesday morning.
Cold front #Huchim (not. 14) is located over the Gulf of Mexico. The low pressure has already been formed that will give it more punch.
