General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Light clouds that should burn off early on the mainland, except along the shoreline which has already cleared. Clear skies in San Pedro and the atolls. Mild and mostly dry conditions prevail, with a light northeasterly airflow.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Variably cloudy and mild today then clear to partly cloudy and cool tonight. Light isolated showers or light rain mostly over the north and offshore today, and then mainly south tonight.

Outlook: Generally fair conditions with light isolated showers for Saturday and Saturday night.
Sargassum Forecast from December 21 to December 29: Satellite pictures suggest that sargassum has increased slightly over the northwest Caribbean Sea during the past week but steering currents are expected to keep most of these mats offshore during the next few days. San Pedro has a medium probability and a minimal impact.

The Caribbean Sea

A recent scatterometer satellite pass indicated fresh to strong winds across the Windward Passage, following a cold front that move through that area yesterday evening. Seas are likely 5 to 7 ft in the Windward Passage. The same scatterometer pass showed fresh winds off Nicaragua. Generally moderate NE to E winds persists elsewhere. Seas are 3 to 5 ft, except 5 to 7 ft outside of shallow areas between western Panama and Nicaragua. A few showers may be ongoing between Jamaica and southern Haiti close to the frontal boundary, but no significant shower or thunderstorm activity exists elsewhere.

For the forecast, fresh to strong N winds over the Windward Passage will diminish by early Sat as the front dissipates through tonight. High pressure building north of the area behind the front will support moderate to fresh winds over much of the central and southwest Caribbean through early next week, including overnight winds pulsing to strong off Colombia starting Sat night.

OP Marty	The easterly Caribbean winds are starting to push back, but above the cool air, so causing a fair amount of cloud, presently over the Caribbean, a little over southern Toledo. Only a tiny hint of any high level cloud. Today will start of bright sunny clear skies, then some small clouds will develop, not clear yet when the heavier Caribbean clouds will come in, possibly this afternoon. There could be some rain showers later this afternoon in parts of the north and south of Belize. Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 20°C 67°F Yesterday max. 26°C 80°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0") Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0" )

OP Marty	Happy Christmas Eve! Cloud now coming in to much of southern Belize, probably with some rain and some to northern Belize later. Present Condition: Clear throughout the country except for the deep south. Clear skies in San Pedro! Mainly fair weather prevails, with mild temperatures across the country. 24hr Forecast: Mostly sunny over most areas during the daytime, except for cloudy spells over southern belize; then, partly cloudy tonight. Fair weather will prevail with mild temperatures across the country. Showers will be isolated, occurring mostly over southern and offshore areas.
