Out of Belize's 638 schools, 279 have opened for hybrid learning. We showed you some of those schools on Monday. Meanwhile, the other 359 are doing remote-only learnings, with some of them waiting on the Ministry's greenlighting approval to reopen their doors.

But only two days into the reopening and media houses are reporting that children are being sent home with COVID symptoms. While symptoms don't normally show up two days after infection, parents are still concerned about the possible spread. Schools have implemented safety measures but with Omicron, it's hard to tell who will catch it and who won't. And while there is that risk, the Ministry of Education says they're on top of it. According to Minister of State, Dr Louis Zabaneh, they have an open line of communication and a protocol if any students start showing symptoms.
