The Caribbean Sea
There are gales
ongoing off the coast of Colombia.
Outside of the Colombian Basin, moderate to fresh trades prevail,
except over the NW Caribbean, where gentle NE winds are occurring.
Seas are 4 to 6 ft, except 2 to 4 ft in the NW Caribbean. Dry
conditions are suppressing any convection over the basin.
For the forecast, tight pressure gradient between high pressure
in the western Atlantic and the Colombian low will support strong
to gale conditions offshore Colombia early this morning, with near
gale conditions possibly pusling nightly early this week.
Generally moderate to fresh trades will prevail elsewhere. A weak
cold front will move through waters near western Cuba today,
before dissipating tonight. Another cold front may approach the NW
Caribbean Tue night into Wed.
Cold front #Nabté (no. 23) is located as a stationary over the Yucatan Peninsula. Get ready because next week #Oxté and #Pisté are coming. Image from late Saturday night.

The cool air from the north has diverted the Caribbean winds from the NNE causing patches of rain mainly over the sea off the coast. The mix of air causing a lot of cloud over the land.
Looks as if today will remain cloudy for most of the day, thick in some south and most central areas, thin cloud in parts of Stann Creak and the north areas, possible scattered small rain showers anywhere, put mainly off shore.
Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 21°C 70°F Yesterday max. 27°C 80°F Yesterday Rain 1.4mm ( 0.1") Over Night Rain 1.5mm ( 0.1" )
Present Condition: Mostly clear in the north, and mostly cloudy in the south. Mostly clear in San Pedro, a few clouds over the sea. A relatively moist northerly airflow prevailing.
24hr Forecast: Sunny skies today with cloudy intervals. Tonight skies will be cloudy at times. A few showers will continue to develop along coastal areas and offshore and then these activity later in the afternoon and evening s will move over inland areas. Tonight and tomorrow morning showers will redevelop along the coast and offshore.
Outlook: For Monday afternoon thru to Tuesday afternoon is for partly cloudy skies and shower activity will be isolated.
Sunday in Hopkins with Dr. Rene Villanueva and Paul Mahung.
