The Caribbean Sea
A cold front continues to push southward across the NW Caribbean,
stretching from the eastern Cuba coast near 20N77W to the northern
Belize coast near 17N88W. Strong winds with seas 8-10 ft are
moving across the Yucatan Channel southward toward the Gulf of
Honduras. Meanwhile, fresh to locally strong winds are occurring
along the Colombia coast with gentle to moderate winds across
the eastern and central Caribbean. Outside of the NW Caribbean,
seas range 4 to 6 ft across the basin. No significant convection
is occurring at this time.
For the forecast, the cold front will stretch from the Windward
Passage to near Cabo Gracias a Dios, Nicaragua tonight and from
Haiti to southern Nicaragua by Sun night. Fresh to strong winds
will continue to spread across the NW basin with 8-10 ft seas as
the front pushes southward during the weekend. Fresh to strong
winds will continue to pulse across the Windward Passage through
midweek.
On Ambergris Caye this morning we have a strong cold Northerner going on and an Advisory: A Small Craft Warning is in effect for strong gusty winds and rough seas. Mariners are advised to remain in safe harbor.
The cold front has now come right over Belize and much further down, it is diverting the Caribbean winds down to Panama. At the same time, there is a lot of high level cloud from the WSW over the whole area, presently causing a lot of rain areas, mainly out at sea.
Looks as if most of Belize will be under heavy cloud for much of the day, perhaps the odd brighter period, and a chance of rain showers.
Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 20°C 68°F Yesterday max. 29°C 84°F Yesterday Rain 0.9mm ( 0.04") Over Night Rain 6.3mm ( 0.25" )

The Cold air is coming down from the NNE and diverting the Caribbean winds and rain out at sea from the NNE, but the clash between the low cold and high level clouds from the SW is resulting in bands of cloud appearing to be moving in over Belize from the NW.
Present Condition: Cloudy throughout the country, including ini San Pedro as a cold front covers the region. A cool and windy northerly airflow prevailing. A small craft warning remains in effect for gusty winds and rough seas. Mariners are advised to remain in safe harbor.
24hr Forecast: Today skies will be mostly cloudy. Tonight skies will be variable cloudy. Little to no rainfall is expected.
Outlook: For Sunday afternoon thru to Monday afternoon is variably cloudy and cool weather with little to no rainfall during Sunday, then expect light showers or rain to develop mainly along southern coast and offshore on Monday.
