The Caribbean Sea
A small upper level low is centered just south of Puerto Rico.
Divergent flow aloft on the southeast of the upper low is support
a few showers along and mainly north of the Virgin Islands. This
pattern is also supporting scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms farther south near 15N65W along a shear line
reaching from east of the Leeward Islands to the east central
Caribbean. An earlier scatterometer satellite pass confirmed fresh
to strong NE winds across the Windward Passage, as well as fresh
to strong NE winds off the coast of Colombia. Fresh to strong
winds are likely off the southern coast of the Dominican Republic
as well. Moderate trade winds are noted elsewhere. Seas are near 9
ft off Colombia, 5 to 7 ft elsewhere over the central Caribbean,
and 3 to 5 ft over the remaining areas of the Caribbean.
For the forecast, high pressure north of the area will continue to
support pulses of fresh to strong winds near the coast of Colombia,
south of Hispaniola, and in the Windward passage through Sun night.
Moderate trades will prevail elsewhere. Large NE swell will dominate
the Atlantic waters of the Leeward Islands Sun night. Looking ahead,
a weak cold front will move into the Yucatan Channel by mid week
then stall over the far northwest Caribbean.
Late last night shows the cold front stretching from the northern part of Florida across the northwest part of the Yucatan Peninsula. Saturday the cold front will move more towards the Yucatan Peninsula increasing the probability of rains, in the Yucatan Peninsula, northern part of Guatemala, and the northwest part of Honduras. This front will not advance far and will become almost stationary but it is likely that another cold front will come to strengthen the weather conditions and it arrives in the next few days to the west side of Cuba and the North of the Central American countries.

The cool air is still coming down from the north, but fighting with the Caribbean winds also from the NNE and with high level winds from the SW all causing a lot of cloud over the whole area and areas of rain.
Looks as if today will be a mixture, mainly cloudy, but the odd patch of sunshine occasionally and the ever present chance of rain showers in any place at different times during the day.
Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 23°C 72°F Yesterday max. 30°C 87
Caribbean winds and cloud fighting back against the cool air, causing many patches of rain, some heavy patches.
Present Condition: Partly cloudy on the mainland, less so in the north. Clear skies in San Pedro. Cool and relatively moist conditions prevail as a cold front moves through.
24hr Forecast: Mostly cloudy skies with periods of rain and a few showers around the country this afternoon and tonight. Then activity will move offshore by tomorrow.
Outlook: A few showers and periods of light rain will occur over central and inland areas Sunday afternoon gradually decreasing Sunday night and becoming isolated by Monday morning.
