Belize NMS: Present Condition: Mostly clear in the north, more cloudy in the south. Thin clouds this morning in San Pedro. A moderate easterly airflow supports mainly fair weather.

24-hour forecast: Mostly sunny skies today and partly cloudy to night. Showers will be isolated, except for the south where a slightly more coastal showers can be expected.

Outlook: For Tuesday and Tuesday night is for similar weather conditions to prevail.
Sargassum Forecast from February 15 to February 23: Latest observations show a bit more Sargassum over our area as compared to last week. Therefore, there is a medium chance that a few Sargassum mats could drift onshore during the coming days. San Pedro has a medium probability with a moderate impact.

The Caribbean Sea

There are pulsing gale-force winds offshore Colombia. The gradient between high pressure north of the area and low pressure over northern Colombia is causing enhanced trade wind flow across the basin. Strong E-NE winds dominate the Colombian Basin and Windward Passage. Moderate to fresh E-NE winds are present elsewhere. Seas are generally moderate with rough conditions in the Colombian Basin and southwest Caribbean.

For the forecast, winds will pulse to gale force off Colombia each night through Fri. Fresh to strong northeast winds in the lee side of Cuba, south of Hispaniola and across the Windward Passage will prevail through Sat. Otherwise, moderate trade winds will continue over the tropical north Atlantic waters east of the Lesser Antilles, increasing to fresh speeds with bulding seas Fri night.
