Belize NMS: Present Condition: A few light clouds, mostly clear skies in San Pedro this morning. A moderate easterly airflow prevails over the area, supporting warm temperatures over the country.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Sunny with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy tonight. Showers will be isolated, with the chance of a few more occurring over northern areas today and then over southern areas tonight.

Outlook: For Wednesday and Wednesday night is for continuing mainly fair weather, with isolated showers developing.
Sargassum Forecast from February 15 to February 23: Latest observations show a bit more Sargassum over our area as compared to last week. Therefore, there is a medium chance that a few Sargassum mats could drift onshore during the coming days. San Pedro has a medium probability with a moderate impact.

The Caribbean Sea

There are pulsing gale-force winds offshore Colombia. The gradient between the Bermuda High in the western Atlantic Ocean and lower pressure over Colombia is producing strong to gale NE winds over the south-central Caribbean. Strong NE winds are also observed in the Windward Passage and south of Cuba. Elsewhere the easterly trades are moderate to fresh. Rough seas to 10 ft are present over the south-central Caribbean and moderate elsewhere.

For the forecast, winds will pulse to gale force off the Colombian coast each night through Fri. Fresh to strong northeast winds in the lee side of Cuba, south of Hispaniola and across the Windward Passage will prevail through Sat. Otherwise, moderate trade winds over the tropical north Atlantic waters east of the Lesser Antilles will increase to fresh speeds Fri night and continue through the remainder weekend along with building seas.
