Yesterday was hot due to bright sunshine and the dust in the air washed away by the earlier rain. But, at the same time, there was yet another bubble of cool air coming down over and from the Gulf. Normally cold air forms a wedge under the warmer air, pushing the warmer up and forming clouds. But these bubbles of cold air do not usually appear to work that way. The cold air coming down over the States, usually gets driven across the Gulf by high level winds from the SW, forming a very wide band of cloud. It looks as if these cold air bubbles first cross over the Yucatan and Belize into the Caribbean at mid-level, above the Caribbean easterly winds, as seen yesterday. Eventually diverting or bringing the easterly Caribbean winds to a stop, and then we feel the cold air on the ground.

Right now, due to these two different air directions, there is very little surface air movement, a tiny trace from the SW. The net result is we presently have two levels of cloud, and some sunshine getting through but no rain. The cold or cool air, is dry air and now warmed up so staying dry. . Today, no exception, when cool air pushed down, it first results in a warm night. So today looks like it will be a mixture of various clouds and some sunshine, but no rain. No rain on the Radar.

Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )
Last Night 23 °C 73 °F Yesterday max. 31 °C 88 °F Yesterday Rain 0.8 mm ( 0.03 ") Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0 " )

The latest cold front didn't arrive into the Yucatan Peninsula, it stayed in the Gulf of Mexico.

Presently, the easterly Caribbean winds have taken over control. They are driven by the Sun moving from the east to the west, so stronger during the day. But there is high level winds forming clashing clouds and have started to cause rain. These high level winds turning into clashing clouds from Cancun to Guatamala, might be the line of cool air, previously from the Gulf.
