On Ambergris Caye this morning we have a 13 mph wind from the Southeast creating moderate sea conditions around our barrier reef. The day is sunny with a predicted high temperature of 88 f.
That fold of cold air down over the Gulf and Belize yesterday, was pushed back by the Caribbean winds to form a clashing line from Belize west border right up to Merida, and is being pushed back down our way this morning. Presently, there is just a little rain coming in from the WNW at present, but a lot of cloud. The Met office are suggesting that this Yucatan cloud will result in a fair bit of rain perhaps this evening and particularly Friday.
Looks as if today will start off sunny but with a fair bit of cloud, and then get cloudier as the day goes on and could be significant rain late this afternoon or evening.
Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler ) Last Night 24 °C 76 °F Yesterday max. 33 °C 92 °F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0. ") Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0 " )
Present Condition: Mostly clear, clouds from the approaching cold front are affecting the north and west. Clear skies in San Pedro. An increase in moisture and instability is expected over the area. A strong thunderstorm watch is in effect for the possibility of thunderstorms being accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong damaging winds.
24hr Forecast: Cloudy spells with a few showers mainly over inland and southern areas this afternoon, increasing along with isolated thunderstorms and spreading to most areas of the country by tonight. Cloudy skies with periods of light rain expected tomorrow morning.
Outlook: Cloudy spells with a few showers or periods of rain mainly over southern and offshore areas Friday afternoon to midday on Saturday.
The cold front Zak (number. 38) is nearing our area.
Current forecast Update weather in Corozal Town. Cold Front approaching our way right now. Zak will bring rain, thunderstorm along with cool temperature. Photo by Belize Scoop
