Belize Weather Forecast: April 15, 2022


General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Mostly clear this morning, a few light clouds between San Ignacio and the central Chiquibul. Clear skies in San Pedro. Seasonally warm and dry weather continues.
Advisories: Small craft caution is in effect for occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas.
24-hour forecast: Skies will be mostly sunny today and partly cloudy to clear tonight with little to no rain expected.
Winds: E-SE, 10-20 kts
Sea State: Choppy - Moderate
Waves: 3-6 ft
Sea Surface Temperature (°f): 84
Outlook: For Saturday and Saturday night is for similar weather to prevail.
Sargassum Forecast from April 13 to April 20: More Sargassum mats are expected to drift onto beaches across the country during the coming days. San Pedro has a high probability with a moderate impact.

The Caribbean Sea

Fresh to strong trade winds persist off the coast of Colombia this morning, between high pressure over the central Atlantic and lower pressure over norther South America. SEas are reaching 8 to 11 ft in this area. Fresh to strong winds are also pulsing off Honduras where seas are up to 7 ft. Moderate to fresh winds and 4 to 6 ft are noted elsewhere. No significant showers or thunderstorms are evident.

For the forecast, the pressure gradient between high pressure located just SE of Bermuda and low pressure over Colombia will continue to support fresh to strong trades over the south-central Caribbean through tonight. Fresh east to southeast winds will pulse to strong in the Gulf of Honduras at night through today. A N to S aligned trough is forecast to develop along 75W from N coast of Colombia across the SE Bahamas Mon through Tue.

On Ambergris Caye this morning we have another sunny and windy day. Advisories: Small craft caution is in effect for occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas.

The easterly Caribbean winds are the same as the last few days and typical for this time of the year, presently no rain on the radar.

Looks as if again it will be mainly a sunny day, but with significant clouds building during the day and reducing in the afternoon, no rain expected. No rain on the Radar.

Present Condition: Basically clear and sunny, a few this and widely scattered clouds on the mainland. Sunny skies in San Pedro. Seasonally warm and dry conditions prevail.

24hr Forecast: Mostly sunny during the daytime and partly cloudy tonight. Little or no rain is expected.

Outlook: (Sat afternoon - midday Sun) Continuing mainly fair and warm weather.
