Prime Minister Hon. John Briceno joined the Belize National Fire Service today for the inauguration of its newly renovated fire station in Orange Walk Town and groundbreaking for a fire station in Trial Farm. The renovations include painting and interior works such as improved sleeping quarters, bathroom, kitchen and office space. The improvements are a welcomed upgrade for the firemen who serve the Orange Walk District.

Also present were Hon. Orlando Habet, Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management; Hon. Ramon Cervantes, Area Representative for Orange Walk North; Mayor Ladrick Sheppard; Dr. Kenrick Williams, CEO in the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management; Colin Gillett, Fire Chief.

To ensure that residents of the Orange Walk District are safeguarded against fires, the National Fire Service of Belize has enhanced the facilities and equipment at its local substation. With a space conducive for its firemen, a new fire engine and plans for a new fire station in Trial Farm, Orange Walk can look forward to vastly improved services.
