The Caribbean Sea
There is a potential for heavy rain now through tonight for the Virgin
Islands and Leeward Islands.
A recent scatterometer pass indicates fresh to strong E winds near
the southern coast of Hispaniola, and off the central coast of
Honduras and the Bay Islands. Moderate to fresh winds are noted
elsewhere. Seas are 2 to 4 ft over the northwest Caribbean, and 4
to 6 ft elsewhere. In addition to the clusters of showers and
thunderstorms over the northeast Caribbean mentioned in the
Special Features section above, scattered showers are evident
over the southwest Caribbean where trade wind flow is converging
into the monsoon trough.
For the forecast, high pressure located north of the Caribbean
Sea will support fresh to strong winds over parts of the east and
central Caribbean during the next several days. Fresh to strong
winds are expected over the south-central Caribbean, near the
coast of Colombia beginning on Mon.
On Ambergris Caye this morning the wind is from the East at 10 mph creating a moderate sea state around our barrier reef. Today's expected high temperature is set at 88f.
The easterly Caribbean winds have a few clouds in them causing a very few small ran showers, there is thin high level cloud over southern Belize from the SW but there is a strange mid-level cloud on the coast, just north of Belize causing heavy rain.
Looks as if today will be mainly sunny, but with significant cloud, just a few very small scattered rain showers.
Last Night 24 °C 75 °F Yesterday max. 32 °C 89 °F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0 " ) Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0 " )

The easterly Caribbean winds are getting slow over Belize.. . There is a hidden movement coming down from the north, more noticeable over Mexico and Guatamala to our west. There is also mid-high level winds from the west, most is very thin, but is seriously clashing with the Caribbean winds over the mountains and causing rain down in Toledo, and some up in Mexico above Belize.
