The salvage operation to remove MIV Taza Mas from its grounded position located at 17.31' 12" N, 088. 12' 43" W in the vicinity of Moho Caye has commenced.

As of today, 6 May, 2022, the vessel has been moved 200 meters East of the grounding position by Hakim Marine Limited with lift bags as coordinated by the Belize Port Authority. The vessel is now stabilized in an upright position.

As soon as the additional equipment has been received the salvage operation will continue in order to ensure that it does not pose a threat to private properties and navigation.
