The Belize High School of Agriculture opened its doors 1984. The school was the brainchild of George LeBard, a peace corps volunteer. Lebard has written a book entitled “A school for others” which reflects on the creation of the school and some of his experiences while in Belize. The Belize High School of Agriculture is located in San Lazaro Village in the Orange Walk District. The school opened its doors in 1984 and now boasts a student enrolment of over 200.
