Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
A Central American Gyre (CAG) is developing across Central
America and the adjacent southwest Caribbean this morning. The
monsoon trough has begun to shift northward, increasing SW winds
and advecting tropical moisture over Central America. Heavy
rainfall has begun in the SW Caribbean and portions of Nicaragua,
Guatemala and Honduras. Extreme rainfall is possible across the
Pacific coasts of Central America, and also over southern Honduras
and northeast Nicaragua.
Surface ridging over the western Atlantic along 26N is supporting
moderate to fresh trade winds across the east and central
Caribbean, with fresh to strong winds in the south-central
Caribbean. Seas are 5-7 ft in these regions, except 7-9 in the
south-central Caribbean. Winds are gentle in the SW Caribbean with
2-4 ft seas. Winds are moderate to fresh in the NW Caribbean with
4-6 ft seas.
For the forecast, winds and seas across the basin will increase
tonight into the weekend as the western Atlantic ridge strengthens
and broad low pressure over Central America gradually shifts west
to northwestward. The strongest winds and highest seas are
expected over parts of the northwestern and south-central
Caribbean during this period. Looking ahead, winds and seas will
start to diminish across the basin early next week as the pressure
gradient relaxes.

Sahara Dust approaching the Peninsula. It will arrive about next Monday with moderate intensity, generating foggy atmosphere and optical effects in the atmosphere. ![[Linked Image]](//Ambergriscaye.com/art8/283008251_3283385961942799_22131435799085764_n.jpg)

The easterly Caribbean winds have returned to normal, and there is some high level winds from the SW, so could cause some rain over the mountains this evening, there was a tiny bit last night. But the weather is changing, there are now many areas of ITCZ activity and there is a large ITCZ active area in the Caribbean sea today, which must be causing a lot of rain way out at sea, beyond our radar range. So the weather is developing more towards the Rainy Season, which is highly variable, sometimes starting in April, other times not until July, but usually around the end of May, early Jun.
Looks as if today will be similar to yesterday, Sun and cloud, hot and humid, but only a small chance of little or no rain. No rain on the radar.
Last Night 26 °C 78 °F Yesterday max. 33 °C 91 °F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0 " ) Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0 " )p

The SW high level is clashing with the easterly Caribbean winds, that are being pushed up by the mountains. There is rain along the western border now and a few other small patches.
