Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
The moderate pressure gradient between the subtropical ridge
north of the Caribbean Sea and lower pressures in northern South
America and the tropical East Pacific result in moderate to
locally strong trades across most of the Caribbean Sea.
Satellite- derived wind data from a few hours ago captured a large
area of fresh to locally strong winds in the central Caribbean
Sea, with the strongest winds occurring offshore Venezuela and
Colombia. Fresh to locally strong trades are also pulsing in the
Bay of Campeche. Seas of 5-8 ft are prevalent in the central
Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Honduras, while 3-5 ft are noted
elsewhere in the basin.
In the forecast, the subtropical ridge north of the area will
support moderate to fresh trades across most of the Caribbean
during the next few days. Winds will pulse to strong north of
Honduras tonight. Fresh to strong winds will also pulse off
Colombia and Venezuela at night through the weekend and into early
next week

The easterly Caribbean winds are slow over southern Belize, but resulting in a lot of cloud. There is a lot of ITCZ activity in the Pacific, throwing out a lot of high level cloud over the Yucatan and Belize, but presently, not resulting in any rain. The met office think there will be more rain over the next few days, particularly Saturday through into next week.
Looks as if today will be mainly cloudy, low and high cloud, not much sunshine today, could be some patches of rain this afternoon. No rain anywhere on the Radar at present.
Last Night 26 °C 78 °F Yesterday max. 33 °C 91 °F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0 " ) Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0 " )

There is some Thunder around right now. And patches of rain. I am going to say the 2022 Rainy season started on Monday 24 May The Rainy season start is loosely defined as : " Over 30mm ( 1¼") Rain in a Week, and 5 of the next 7 days are significant rain days. " On Monday we had 25mm ( 1" ) of rain over night. Belmopan may not have had much rain until today, but many other parts of Belize have had a lot of rain. And the forecast is for significant rain over the next 4 or 5 days. So I feel we can say we are now in the Rainy season, even though we could easily have a fair bit of dry in early June. ![[Linked Image]](//Ambergriscaye.com/art8/vHql8kKbAgauPclv.jpg) Weather analysis shows tropical wave over Central America. ![[Linked Image]](//Ambergriscaye.com/art8/284332486_3288788134735915_1105584689325447201_n.jpg)
