Belize Weather Forecast: July 2, 2022

General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Light clouds cover most of the country this morning except for the NE, should burn off early. Mostly clear in San Pedro. Moist and unstable conditions setting in.
Advisories: A small craft caution is in effect for large waves in easterly swells.
24-hour forecast: Cloudy at times with a few showers, periods of rain and isolated thuhderstorms across the country today, then mainly over the southern districts tonight.
Winds: E-NE, 10-20 kts

Outlook: For Sunday and Sunday night is for a few showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly along the coast and over the south.
Sargassum Forecast from June 29 to July 6: Latest satellite imagery show a general decrease in sargassum over the Northwestern Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Honduras. However, there is still a medium chance that a few mats could drift onto local beaches during the next few days. San Pedro has a medium probability with a moderate impact.
Tropical Weather Outlook: At 6:00 am local time Tropical Storm Bonnie was located near latitude 11.2N, longitude 85.5W or about 65 miles SE of Managua, Nicaragua, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and was moving to the west at 14 mph. Click for more of the tropical weather outlook...

Tropical Storm Bonnie is in the region.

As Tropical Storm Bonnie clears the basin, fresh to strong easterlies continue to dominate the majority of the central and eastern basin with 7-10 ft seas. Gentle to moderate winds prevail over the NW Caribbean with 4-6 ft seas.

For the forecast, Tropical Storm Bonnie is inland across Nicaragua and exiting away from the southwest Caribbean. Bonnie will continue westward and emerge across the Pacific waters by this afternoon. Seas across the western Caribbean associated with Bonnie will gradually subside today. A strong tropical wave located along 65W will continue moving quickly westward across the eastern Caribbean Sea through tonight and across the central Caribbean Sun and Sun night. Any development of this system should be slow to occur. Expect a broad surge of strong winds and high seas across the Atlantic and Caribbean waters with this wave as it moves across the region.

OP Marty	The flight of an aircraft over Tropical Storm Bonnie has encountered a pressure of 998 mb, synonymous with intensification, although the proximity to the territory has experienced an intensification. Probably hit with 45+ mph winds. The active Tropical Wave southeast of Puerto Rico has a low probability of 10% over the next 5 days, however this system will increase the chances of rain with some wind gusts to Puerto Rico island from today until tomorrow to then move to Dominican Republic on Monday. OP Marty	There are traces of high level winds from the NW clashing with the regular easterly Caribbean winds, and now getting tied up with the high level outpouring from that storm TROPICAL STORM BONNIE which is resulting in more cloud around and significant rain coming in from the east. Presently moving in from the coast but mainly in central regions and some resulting in thunderstorms. Looks as if today will be mainly cloudy, with some sunshine, and significant rain showers anywhere. Last Night 26 °C 78°F Yesterday max. 33 °C 92 °F Yesterday Rain 0.2 mm ( 0 1" ) Over Night Rain 3.1 mm ( 0.12 " )

OP Marty	Present Condition: Mostly cloudy on the mainland, less so in the very north. Partly cloudy in San Pedro. Moist and unstable conditions prevailing , later the airflow will become less moist over some areas. A small craft caution remains in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas in easterly swells and near heavy showers and thunderstorms. 24hr Forecast: Sunny skies today with some cloudy intervals. Tonight skies will be partly cloudy. A few outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect most areas of the country this afternoon and evening, then shower activity will become isolated tonight and tomorrow morning, except for the south where a few more showers and thunderstorms can be expected. Outlook: For Sunday afternoon thru to Monday afternoon is for partly cloudy skies shower activity will be generally isolated except for the south where a few more showers or thunderstorms can be expected. Tropical Storm#Bonnie exiting into the Pacific. Its circulation will bring some rain to the Peninsula. Note the active tropical wave crossing the Central Caribbean. Coming to our area next week.
