Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

There are four Tropical Waves in the Caribbean Sea. A NE to ENE trade-wind regime continues over the entire Caribbean Sea. Fresh winds along with 6 to 7 ft seas persist in the south-central Caribbean, north of Colombia. Mainly gentle winds and seas at 1 to 3 ft are present for the northwestern basin and near the Nicaragua-Costa Rica coastline. Moderate to fresh winds and seas of 4 to 6 ft prevail for the remainder of the basin.

For the forecast, the pressure gradient between high pressure north of the basin and the Colombian/Panamanian low will lead to fresh to locally strong winds in the south-central Caribbean through early next week. Fresh trade winds and seas in the 6 to 9 ft range in NE swell are expected across the waters E of the Lesser Antilles through tonight. The aerial extent of the trades will increase across the Caribbean waters early on Sun as high pressure N of the area strengthens.

Strange weather around for this time of the year. Not much air movements, mid-high level cloud sitting over most of Belize, slight movement towards the north, the easterly Caribbean winds are weak and being diverted down southwards further away. There are a few showers around, a bit at random, under the thicker parts of the high cloud.

Looks as if today will be mainly cloudy, with the odd chance of a rain shower.

Last Night 25 °C 78°F Yesterday max. 32 °C 90°F Yesterday Rain 0 mm ( 0 " ) Over Night Rain 0 mm ( 0 " )

Present Condition: Clouds cover most of the mainland, less so in the very north. Partly cloudy in San Pedro. Some moisture that moved over northern Belize supported a few showers over the northern districts this morning... Otherwise, generally fair weather prevails across the country.

24hr Forecast: Skies will continue to appear cloudy with high level clouds streaming across the country. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will occur over northern areas during the early afternoon hours. Otherwise, showers will be isolated.

Outlook: Fair weather conditions with little or no rainfall Sunday afternoon. Then, a few showers and isolated thunderstorms can be expected mostly over southern and central areas Sunday night into Monday.
