Amnesty 2022 was officially declared open this morning by Hon. Ramon Cervantes, Jr., Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, during a small ceremony at the Belize Amnesty Registration Center in Belmopan.

Migrants residing in Belize illegally or who are recommended asylum seekers, and fit the eligibility criteria, will now have an opportunity to apply under the program. Following a thorough application process, which includes police background checks, those who qualify for the amnesty will be offered permanent resident status with a path to citizenship.
