Don't know what kind of music you prefer but i found the "Hideaway" to be a good spot. Not sure which days are best but i enjoyed Dennis Wolfe,Dale Wallace,Louie and Casey Moore when he plays his banjo with them! Lots of good country/rock/and even a little bluegrass!Agreat place to hang out too!
Found the pizza at "Peper-Onis'" across the street from Playador to be good. The pizza at the Hideaway was good too!
Both these places are south of town if you're not yet familiar.
Enjoy..............Richard

Joy - Keep your ears peeled for drumming. Follow it and you will find authentic Garifuna music. If you are lucky, one of our Belizean punta or reggae bands will be in town. Are you Jamaican? Bryon Lee and of course Bob are popular on the jukebox. For real Belizean music, watch for Andy Palacio, Punta Rebels, Griga Boyz, Bredda David, World Culture Band, Santinos Messengers & Mr. Peters Boom & Chime.

For pizza, we liked Dennis the Bun Man (delivers to your door in his golfcart!) the best followed closely by Sharks Bar.

M-A Gaffney,
I agree with you on the punta music! I've never been fortunate enough to be in AC when any of these bands were performing. I read where Santino's Messengers performed this past week for the festival. I've been able to purchase CDs of Andy Palacio, Griga Boys, Punta Rebels, Titiman Flores and Mr. Peters on either Amazon.com or Stone Tree websites, but I haven't been able to find a website to purchase CDs by Bredda David, World Culture Band or Santino's Messengers. Does anyone know if they have CD's available and where I can purchase them?

I see Bredda David here, and I believe Sam Harris has something new coming out soon. You might be able to get World Cultures' one & only album thru their Mgr Oscar Manzanero, at [email protected]. Don't recall seeing a Messengers album. Probably something local. We have plans to open a small place for LIVE Belizean music on the Mainland in the near future. Send your e-mail address to [email protected] if you'd care for updates.
