The Caribbean Sea

There are no tropical waves in the Atlantic, and one in the eastern Caribbean.

The presence of Tropical Depression Nicole over northwest Florida continue to disrupt the Atlantic subtropical ridge. This is resulting in light to gentle winds across the western half of the Caribbean with 1-3 ft seas, with seas up to 4 ft in the Yucatan Passage. Moderate trade wind flow is across the eastern half of the basin, being supported by the passage of a tropical wave. Seas to 3 ft dominate this region.

For the forecast, high pressure will gradually build north of the area as Nicole moves farther inland over the SE of United States. Moderate winds will increase over the central Caribbean through the weekend. Locally fresh winds are expected to develop over the eastern Caribbean by early next week.

There is not much movement of air over or near Belize at present. There is very fast, thin high level over the Caribbean, well away. there is some mid-level winds coming down from the north, not doing very much, and it looks as if the Caribbean winds are starting to push back against the cooler air we have had over the last couple of days.

Looks as if today will be mainly sunny, with white clouds developing this morning. No rain on the radar

Tracking Two Tropical Waves
Tracking two tropics waves moving through the Caribbean... Flooding will be possible in spots, but I am not seeing organization from these right now. Trinidad & Tobago, St. Lucia, Aruba, Cura´┐Żao, Bonaire, and Jamaica will see the increased chance of rain and thunderstorms.
