I Turned In An American Fugitive"
US resident Aldrick Scott is now in the custody of US Law Enforcement - where he is urgently wanted for questioning about the whereabouts of 43-year-old Cari Allen - his girlfriend who's been missing for 18 days.
Scott was picked up in Caye Caulker on Tuesday - and tonight details are coming out about how police were led to him. They got a tip from the man - a grill owner - who had hired Scott to clean fish for him. Cherisse Halsall has the story from Caye Caulker:
This is the house where American fugitive Aldrick Scott and his Belizean employer Shalton Fuentes were living when Fuentes turned Scott into the police.
Fuentes says he did that after Scott confessed his crime to him, and after that a quick YouTube search convinced Fuentes that he's been living with a dangerous man.

"Well the day when I met Aldrick Scott it was a Monday like last two weeks on a Monday, I met him and when I met him he like he was walking through the street and he stopped towards my business."
That business, the Google Grill where Fuentes who is a chef would prepare grilled fish and Lobster, and for the last two weeks Scott would be the one to clean them before cooking.
This news room first heard of Shalton Fuentes a few weeks ago when he messaged a complaint that the island's town council had moved him from this spot. Oh, if we knew then what we knew now.

"He asked me that the end of the day he wanted to buy a plate of food from me and I sold him the plate of food and then from there when I sold him the plate of food, you know I asked him I told him, where are you going to stay and he told me that he didn't have anywhere to stay, he was stranded so at the end of the day he told me well you can start to work with me and then from there he ended up working with me. I told him where are you going to stay and he told me I don't have anywhere to stay so I told him you can stay at my apartment like for four days and then from there we continued staying and he was staying at my apartment but at the end of the day I didn't know that he was wanted for the crime of murder. He confessed to me, he was in a corner crying and I told him. I told him Nelson why are you crying? He told me I do not want to go to jail because the feds, if the feds meet him or if the FBI meet him or the CIA meet him he will get time so from there he told me that make I turn him in make I give him in to the police because at the end of the day he just wanted to go to jail."
And jail is exactly where he went. Yesterday we nabbed this footage of Scott being escorted from the Queen street station to be flown back to the U.S.

"Well while I was searching for him, he gave me like three names, the first name he gave me, he gave me Eric Lopez, from there he gave me Nelson Scott and I said you know what I took it in my own hands I got into my phone and I started searching and when I started searching and I typed in Nelson Scott from there I found him on YouTube and when I found him on YouTube then I said you know what this is the guy that killed the girl so end of the day it's like I said to myself the first person who I contact it was the U.S. embassy then from there when I contacted the U.S. embassy I contacted the police department."

"You've told me in a previous conversation that you felt that if you didn't turn him in that the DA would come after you?"
Shalton Fuentes, Turned in Scott
"Well, I didn't know. The D.A. was here and I felt that someone was following me anywhere where I went I just felt that someone was following me. What I got to understand is that yes an agent was here but the D.A never caught me nor him. So, if the D.A. would have caught us, I would've gotten in big trouble. Well the day I got arrested, it was a Tuesday, and the cops went to my apartment. From there when they went in, they said they were there for drugs and ammunition, so I told them I don't have a gun or anything. The only thing I have was the guy's luggage in my room. I do not have anything, and in a way I feel good, I don't have threat or anything and it's a good thing I handed him over to the police because it could have gotten worse than this with a criminal on the island so I solved the problem."
The desperate search for Cari Allen continues in Nebraska.
US media reports say that Scott is currently being held in Texas. No word on how long it will take for him to be extradited back to Nebraska. He is currently being interviewed by the Sherrif's department in the county where he landed.
