Here's what reports from Omaha Nebraska have been saying about Scott:

And he was picked up in Caye Caulker today - and transported by Interpol to the mainland where Embassy officials confirmed that he is wanted. He remains detained and is expected to be sent back to the US on the first available flight.

American Fugitive Sent Back To Nebraska, Girlfriend Still Missing

Tonight, an American fugitive who was hiding out in Belize is back in the custody of U.S. authorities.

He's Aldrick Scott, a native of Topeka Kansas who is wanted in connection with the November 20th disappearance of his ex-girlfriend 43-year-old Nebraska resident Carrie Allen. She's still missing tonight and Scott is going back to face a warrant for kidnapping.

Scott was picked up in Caye Caulker yesterday morning - acting on intelligence that the fugitive had shaved his head and was lying low on the island where he almost fit in like another tourist. Cherisse Halsall has the story of his arrest and expulsion to the USA.

This was the moment this morning when American army and former US marine Aldrick Scott was transferred from the Queen Street police station. The 47-year-old is wanted in the U.S.A in connection with the kidnapping and possible murder of his ex-girlfriend, 43-year-old Cari Allen, a resident of Omaha Nebraska.

And this morning under the guard of Coastal Executive Officer, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo, Scott was ushered into a waiting police vehicle - to be ferried to the airport - and a waiting flight to the US.

It follows a week of investigations in the U.S. where a search warrant was served at Aldrick Scott's Topeka Kansas home. The complaint attached to the warrant is that he kidnapped Allen.

But Scott was long gone by then having made it to warmer weather on sunny Caye Caulker, Belize.

That was until yesterday when reports suggest Belizean police were tipped off to a sighting of him on Avenida Hicaco. They launched a special operation to locate and apprehend the man who they had learned was a wanted fugitive. Scott was searched for drugs and ammunition, and when nothing was found, he was read his rights and informed of the reason for his detention.

As for Scott, he will return to the U.S. this evening where U.S. authorities will be eager to question him about Cari Allen's whereabouts and what role, if any he played in her disappearance.

Allen was last seen on November 20th shortly before one of Scott's neighbours made a 911 call claiming that he had killed her.

And a clarification to the report on this we ran last night - the US Embassy wasn't involved in identifying the suspect, that was done by US Foreign Officials.

I Turned In An American Fugitive"

US resident Aldrick Scott is now in the custody of US Law Enforcement - where he is urgently wanted for questioning about the whereabouts of 43-year-old Cari Allen - his girlfriend who's been missing for 18 days.

Scott was picked up in Caye Caulker on Tuesday - and tonight details are coming out about how police were led to him. They got a tip from the man - a grill owner - who had hired Scott to clean fish for him. Cherisse Halsall has the story from Caye Caulker:

This is the house where American fugitive Aldrick Scott and his Belizean employer Shalton Fuentes were living when Fuentes turned Scott into the police. Fuentes says he did that after Scott confessed his crime to him, and after that a quick YouTube search convinced Fuentes that he's been living with a dangerous man.

Shalton Fuentes, Turned in Scott
"Well the day when I met Aldrick Scott it was a Monday like last two weeks on a Monday, I met him and when I met him he like he was walking through the street and he stopped towards my business."

That business, the Google Grill where Fuentes who is a chef would prepare grilled fish and Lobster, and for the last two weeks Scott would be the one to clean them before cooking.

This news room first heard of Shalton Fuentes a few weeks ago when he messaged a complaint that the island's town council had moved him from this spot. Oh, if we knew then what we knew now.

Shalton Fuentes, Turned in Scott
"He asked me that the end of the day he wanted to buy a plate of food from me and I sold him the plate of food and then from there when I sold him the plate of food, you know I asked him I told him, where are you going to stay and he told me that he didn't have anywhere to stay, he was stranded so at the end of the day he told me well you can start to work with me and then from there he ended up working with me. I told him where are you going to stay and he told me I don't have anywhere to stay so I told him you can stay at my apartment like for four days and then from there we continued staying and he was staying at my apartment but at the end of the day I didn't know that he was wanted for the crime of murder. He confessed to me, he was in a corner crying and I told him. I told him Nelson why are you crying? He told me I do not want to go to jail because the feds, if the feds meet him or if the FBI meet him or the CIA meet him he will get time so from there he told me that make I turn him in make I give him in to the police because at the end of the day he just wanted to go to jail."

And jail is exactly where he went. Yesterday we nabbed this footage of Scott being escorted from the Queen street station to be flown back to the U.S.

Shalton Fuentes, Turned in Scott
"Well while I was searching for him, he gave me like three names, the first name he gave me, he gave me Eric Lopez, from there he gave me Nelson Scott and I said you know what I took it in my own hands I got into my phone and I started searching and when I started searching and I typed in Nelson Scott from there I found him on YouTube and when I found him on YouTube then I said you know what this is the guy that killed the girl so end of the day it's like I said to myself the first person who I contact it was the U.S. embassy then from there when I contacted the U.S. embassy I contacted the police department."

Cherisse Halsall
"You've told me in a previous conversation that you felt that if you didn't turn him in that the DA would come after you?"

Shalton Fuentes, Turned in Scott
"Well, I didn't know. The D.A. was here and I felt that someone was following me anywhere where I went I just felt that someone was following me. What I got to understand is that yes an agent was here but the D.A never caught me nor him. So, if the D.A. would have caught us, I would've gotten in big trouble. Well the day I got arrested, it was a Tuesday, and the cops went to my apartment. From there when they went in, they said they were there for drugs and ammunition, so I told them I don't have a gun or anything. The only thing I have was the guy's luggage in my room. I do not have anything, and in a way I feel good, I don't have threat or anything and it's a good thing I handed him over to the police because it could have gotten worse than this with a criminal on the island so I solved the problem."

The desperate search for Cari Allen continues in Nebraska.

US media reports say that Scott is currently being held in Texas. No word on how long it will take for him to be extradited back to Nebraska. He is currently being interviewed by the Sherrif's department in the county where he landed.

US Fugitive Caught in Belize Charged In US

Tonight, we have an update on the accused American kidnapper and alleged killer who was found on Caye Caulker.

Back in November Aldrick Scott fled his Topeka, Kansas home just as the police were closing in on him. He hopped a flight to sunnier weather right here in Belize where he stumbled into a job cleaning fish for a Caye Caulker food stall.

But just a few weeks later he was ultimately turned over to U.S. authorities by his Belizean employer who felt there could have been consequences for him if he continued to knowingly harbour a fugitive.

And on Friday Scott was back in Nebraska to hear charges of kidnapping and accessory to a felony, charges which could carry a penalty up to life in prison.

In court, prosecutors revealed that a friend of his ex, Cari Allen confirmed that she had broken things off with Scott two weeks prior to her disappearance, "but that he continued to text and show up unannounced."

The sheriff's office in Douglas County where Carri Allen lives is still working to find her.

Aldrick Scott's bond has been set at $10 million dollars.
