The Caribbean Sea
Fresh to strong trade winds are over the central Caribbean with
seas in the 5-8 ft range. Moderate to fresh winds prevail
elsewhere with 3 to 5 ft seas except up to 6-7 ft in the NE
Caribbean passages due to NE swell from the Atlantic.
For the forecast, surface ridging N of the region will maintain
fresh to strong NE to E winds across portions of the central and
SW Caribbean Sea through Mon night, with moderate to locally fresh
winds elsewhere. Large long-period N to NE swell will continue to
propagate through the NE Caribbean passages and affect the
Tropical N Atlantic waters through Fri. Another large set of N
swell is forecast to begin propagating through the Tropical N
Atlantic waters starting late on Fri and continue through Mon
night.
The Caribbean winds are being diverted up northwards, and virtually stopped near Belize, due to a cold air bubble that moved across the Gulf yesterday and is now close to the Yucatan. I am getting a light "Tiger" wind off the mountains from the SW. Presently, there is a lot of fog around, which will burn off soon.
Looks as if today is going to be mainly sunny, when the fog has gone, little or no chance of any rain today.

Present Condition: Clear skies throughout the country, including in San Pedro. Mainly dry conditions prevail.
24hr Forecast: Mostly sunny during the daytime and partly cloudy to clear tonight. Little or no rain is expected; except for the chance of an isolated thunderstorm developing over the mountains this afternoon.
Outlook: (Fri afternoon - midday Sat) Partly cloudy with isolated showers, along with the chance for an isolated thunderstorm, mainly over northern districts.
The cold front Itzamara (Num. 16) is located over the Gulf of Mexico.
Pattern Change Coming! A pattern change is coming across the Caribbean. Storm systems will dive south and that means cooling winds and choppy seas!
