Sargassum Forecast from January 19 to January 25:
There is only a small chance that new sargassum mats could affect local beaches during the next few days. San Pedro has a low probability with a minimal impact.

Marine Conditions:
The Caribbean Sea
There is a Gale Warning in the south-central Caribbean off the northern
coast of Colombia.
Strong trade winds prevail over the central Caribbean Sea to the
south of 16.5N between 67W-79W, with fresh trades elsewhere east
of 81W and south of 18N. Moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Recent
altimeter data from 24/0700 UTC show seas of 10-11 ft from
12N-14N between 77W-78W. Seas are likely as high as 12 ft off the
coast of Colombia. Seas of 8 ft or higher prevail in the strong
wind area of the central Caribbean. Seas of 5-7 ft are elsewhere,
except for 4-6 ft in the NW basin.
For the forecast, strong trade winds will continue over the
south-central Caribbean Sea, with fresh winds elsewhere over the
eastern and central Caribbean through the forecast period. Near
gale to minimal gale force winds will pulse at night near the
coast of Colombia through the forecast period. Strong winds will
pulse in the Gulf of Honduras tonight. A cold front will approach
the Yucatan Channel area on Thu, enter the northwestern and north-
central Caribbean Thu night through early Fri, then stall and
dissipate. Fresh to strong northeast to east winds in the wake of
the front will prevail in the northwest and north-central
Caribbean through Sat night.
The cool air bubble has passed us now and the easterly Caribbean winds returning, but they do have some cloud in them, and one area has been causing some rain out at sea, butt hat is drying up now, there might be more rain later, the weather people think a lot more rain on Wednesday night into Thursday.
Looks as if today will be mainly sunny, but with significant cloud later, possible a little rain.

Present Condition: Clear skies throughout the country, including in San Pedro. Relatively dry conditions will contine for another day or so. A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and occasionally rough seas.
24hr Forecast: Sunny with a few cloudy spells during the daytime and partly cloudy tonight. Only brief isolated showers are expected.
Outlook: (Wed afternoon - midday Thur) Continuing mainy fair Wednesday afternoon with isolated showers along with the chance for isolated thunderstorms to develop inland. Cloudiness and showers will increase over most areas Wednesday night, along with isolated thunderstorms; and will continue Thursday morning.
Cold Fronts Get Close to the Caribbean More cold fronts will move toward the Caribbean, but most die out. We have some slightly cooler weather for Belize, while Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad and Tobago stay very warm.
