I'm a science teacher considering putting together a scuba club at school. I recently received some information about a company called Aqua Red Diving Adventures that offers a marine biology experience in Belize. I'm under the impression that they are based on Ambergris Caye. This sounds like a really interesting opportunity for some students to learn to dive and to experience some things that you just can't experience here in Ohio (it also sounds like a great excuse to get me back to my favorite island) The problem is that I can't find any reference to this outfit on this board. I figure if anyone would be able to help me find some information it would be the fine people of this board.

Thanks for any insight you can provide,

Grawz

or is it Aqua Dives?

Our local High School here ran a diving club similar to that once.

Hi, trina I would suggest the Orange Walk area. There is a lot to offer there. In particular there is the Lamanai Outpost lodge that offers exactly what you're looking for. You can contact me if you need more info at [email protected]

When I was on AC in May, I met a young man, a grad student, who was in Belize specifically to study Angel fish (If my memory serves me correctly). He was diving each day with Aqua Dives, and doing his research. I don't how much they helped with the program, but certainly helped get him where he needed to go to find the right fish. Maybe Aqua Dives is your place? Good luck!

Contact Mike Schultz [email protected]

I understand that he is running a kids scuba camp in Belize each summer.

Sorry I don't have more info...I just got this and have not researched it yet but it sounds like a real good idea.

It's not "Aqua Dives" - it's a man with a marine biology degree, and a large catamaran that is outfitted as a marine biology lab. Will see if I can locate his phone number for you. I think his focus is actual credit-oriented classes from University extensions.
