Hariette,
Got new for ya. July-August are NOT the hottest months. Right here, right now is the epitomy of being hot. No breeze, sand flies eatin you alive. But this year we're not running from any hurricanes so far. I think I'll go put an ice pack on my melting brain. Its so hot we can't breathe and forget about running a computer between noon and 6 p.m. Bring a small fan to blow on your ocmputer at all times. I've learned from my past experience, computers that are built in the U.S. need larger internal fans, or they will overheat and start doing funky things.

Thanks for the heads up. How can it beat the 96 degrees every day for two weeks when I was there in May/June? One day it was 112 at Tropic Air.
Is this a very unusual year?
I guess I better hold out for air conditioning.

May & June we stil had "some" breeze with short rain spells that seemed to give a little relief. Now it's just frickin HOT!
No breeze until about 6pm in the evening for a couple hours and then dead again.
Only relief is to stay in the water or get in a hammock in the shade and lay very still.
(Or con, beg, plead or pay a tourist into letting you nap in their air conditioned room, LOL)

It's always hot this time of year and typically we lose breeze for about a month. It just seems a little worse this year.

Scuba Lady,
Thanks for your input. Iread your post about looking for an apartment. Would you be willing to share a place for a while? I don't dive, but am an artisit of sorts, other than photos. As for disposing of photo chemicals, there's waterless and recovery systmes that are eco friendly. I want to keep my house and land to return to in the summer months, but it seems silly to keep the property unused for half each year. Maybe we can work out a trade, or you may know somebody willing. I've seen your posts on the board before. YOu can reply to me at [email protected]

Talked to some old timers today, theya re saying that this is the hottest September they remember. I laughed when I reread my post above, lotsof spelling errors, I was definitely into brain meltdown, which leads to apathy, that's why I didnt go back and correct the spelling.

Grace,

When are you moving? Are you still looking for someone to share an apartment with? It sounds like you and I are travelling the same road. I'm thinking of moving to AC for about six months (to write mostly--or to give it a shot anyway). I'm looking at sometime in January. It sounds like we're pretty close to each other now. I live in Sandy Springs. I'd love to discuss if you get a chance. My email is: [email protected]
