My niece (30 yo) would like to learn to dive. She's going to take her classes here in Ohio in November and has asked me to go with her (read find a fun place and make all the arrangements) when she does her open water dives. I'm a teacher so the only time I have off is between Christmas and New Years. I did my open water dives with Hustler three years ago and REALLY enjoyed my stay on Ambergris Caye and think she would enjoy it also. The question is, am I too late to make plans for the week of New Years?

Some places are booked, at least at this point (cancellations occur as you get closer to arrival) but there is still LOTS of room at Christmas, all over Belize.

As Marty & Lan replied, there are hotels still available. Airfare might give you a challenge unless you are flexible with the dates. But it looks like American has opened up some availablity this week on their new flights via Miami.
