News of the recent cover charges at Fido's and Shark Bar. How many other places are charging.
It was common for the late night places to charge in the past.

Well that is the pits, too much like Cancun.
What next Mannelly's will charge cover too?

I for one on last trip with 5 people going to both places every night, wow alot of money.

Typically adult drinkers will not pay cover charge.

Being my first time to San Pedro, I never even thought about the cover charge. I think Shark's Bar was just that one night because they had a live band. Jerk Pit did not have a cover charge even when the Punta Boys were playing.

When Category 7 was playing at Fido's, I got there a bit early and they said I did not have to pay cover charge.

Bands or performers in San Pedro, are great, and I like most do put money in their tip jars, and we should. Just do not think the door cover charge is going in full to the bands, JMHO.

We went to Fido's three times last week. Once we did not have to pay a covercharge, because we arrived at approx 8pm and had dinner. The other two times, we arrived at or after 8:30pm, when Cat 7 or BFS has begun the entertainment and were charged a cover. Really enjoyed the entertainment, so I didn't mind paying a few bucks. smile (Really, a BZ$5 cover charge is not too bad).

It just gets worse and worse doesn't it? So Fidos and the others get you to pay double for the entertainment. How many people would be sitting in Fidos if there were no entertainment. Not very many, I bet.

So, they make a good profit on their meals and drinks, much more dollars than they would have without the entertainers. Then they charge everyone a cover in addition. A good trick if you can pull it off.

Just another bite out of the tourists dollar. Add it onto the restaurant tax, room tax, credit card fees, and don't forget you are already tipping... aren't you? I agree with Immissing. they won't get a cover from me either... unless its cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

Happy trails,
