We are planning on getting married in late Oct. or early Nov. of 03 on Ambergris Caye. We are thinking about staying at the Portofino resort. Has anyone stayed at this resort and/or have any comments? We are looking for an ideal reception area for up to 30 people.? Can anyone recomend places to stay for our guests that would be under $100/night.? We would like day excursions with our guests. Are package deals through hotels such as scuba, mayan ruins etc. the best way OR should we go directly through vendors?
Thanks

From one John to another......We like to do the trips on our own..Seems like we get better deals...Just my opinion...As far as rooms under $100, just go to the search forum and get e-mail addys...With that many people you should get some pretty good prices....Good Luck....John smile

When you talk with Sundiver, recommend you chat with their restaurant owners. They have great food and service and a beautiful 2nd story dining room that might be great for your reception. Kathryn & staff are excellent at arranging trips for the wedding groups. Happy wedding & marriage - AC will be a great start.

I would sugegst the Sunbreeze Hotel and for diving convenience and tours there is Aqua Dives right on site.

We just had a beautiful wedding and reception at the Blue Tang Inn over the New Year.

If you need more info e-mail

Hi, trina I would suggest the Orange Walk area. There is a lot to offer there. In particular there is the Lamanai Outpost lodge that offers exactly what you're looking for. You can contact me if you need more info at djones@btl.net
