We are going to have to stay in Belize City one night. Between our Trip to Glover Reef and going out to A/C. Reasonable price under $60 if possible any suggestion would be appreciated.
We are taking the ferry out to A/C first thing in the morning...

This question has been asked and answered a hundred times here on the board. For detailed information, just use the Search facility below Post a Reply above.

But my quick answer would be Colton House or Villa Boscardi, both in the general range you are looking for.

Stayed at Villa Boscardi the first night in Belize City! The place and the host were wonderful!!! Very comfortable beds and the breakfast was great! They also will pick you up from the airport when yo arrive and take you to the ferry when you leave!

Anybody know if the Bellevue is open? Number or email? I loved that old place, but can't find out if they are open...

Say Bredda Ty, I thought you were going down to Belize to fish and have one big time. Now you are talking about the mental instituon, or a Hotel. The Belevue was a specialize hospital for people with emotional problems.......esta es un chiste hermano mio !!!!

The Bellevue closed maybe 18 months ago. There was talk of it reopening under new management but last time I checked it had not.

Lan> the Bellevue was open last May. I stayed there and they told me a dude from Hong Kong or somewhere had bought it. Anyway, the rooms were open as was the bar and pool. The resteraunt had not reopened then, however.

I sent an email to the address the new manager had given me but have not got a reply. Someone just gave me a different email and I'm trying that. Will let ya'll know if I hear anything. I like that place so am really hoping they didn't close again....

Mel> Yea bradda. I'm going to do some fishing and swiming and beer drinking no doubt. But I get into BC too late to catch a boat to AC so will probably stay in BC one night. Besides, i like running around Albert St and Queen St and chillin at Market Square. I also got to go by and see CookieGirl (from our other board) at the new Tourist Village. She has a shop there and promised me a discount!!! Woooooo Hoooooo!!!!

The Embassy Hotel is across the parking lot from the international airport. John and Judy run the place and are wonderful people. You can sit in the lobby and listen to interesting stories from the eclectic group, some who stay there long term.
The place is simple, clean and quiet. They had one of their guys drive us into town for a great dinner and he waited while we ate and took us back; all this for the price of a taxi one-way. Needless to say we tipped him nicely. I think the name of the place we ate was “Jack's”. John called and made the reservations and we had the most leisurely European type dinner you can imagine. We felt completely safe doing it this way.
I've stayed there 3 times, the first being the time we were evacuated from A/C for Mitch. I just checked their web page
http://www.adventuresinbelize.com/acc-embassy1.htm
Prices range from $49 - $89 per night.
