What do you think is the best beach on AC, that is, the one with the best sandy bottom-with the least rocks, coral, or sea grass? Would Banana Beach qualify? This will be our first trip?

Banana Beach is fronted by a seawall. The beach just a bit down the way in front of Banyan Bay is supposed to be fairly good for the area.

I didn't actually go into the water at Caribe Island resort, but I thought the beach there was lovely.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

Probably Ramon's for best beach. But anywhere, best swimming is off piers due to soft sand and sea grass in most places. Tradeoff is the great wildlife this type ecosystem supports. Happy first trip.

Ramone's has a seawall too. In town the nicest beaches are probably Victoria house and Banyan Bay. In my opninion thoug, the beaches up north are the most attractive: less polution, less environmental damage, less erotion, seagrass, yes, but the resorts keep that on a fair distance. In general the nature is much better, and town is 10 minutes away by Island Ferry.

Ramon's has seawall for only part of its site - there is a nice beach on the north side of their property.

I must add to this one. EVERYWHERE on the island has beautiful beaches!!! Ramon's is my favorite though. You can walk in the water there without worrying about steping on concrete or rocks, and there isn't a ton of sea grass. All the others are great as well. Just take a stroll and pick your own favorite spot. wink

Just beautiful but Pfarrel, it looks like it has a seawall out front?

Banana Beach has a partial sea wall area and to the north the beach is wide open all the way to Banyan Bay. This is the Mar De Tumbo beach area and is the nicest of all. The sea grass is usually raked very early in the morning, so you will not come into much of that,on the north side of Banana Beach.
cool Jackie

Well now I'm undecided again ... I had my mind up on Banana Beach for a trip in May, but does the sea wall obstruct the view from the ocean front rooms? Is there any beach area to relax on? Does anyone know anything about the beach area at Aquamarina Suites ... and is walking traffic a problem on that beach? Help! Thanks!
