My brother, Dallas Dave, has received a phone message from the island, he
thinks it was Rick (Carr?), who said that Barefoot Skinny and wife and
family and Lacy Burnette (Dave's wife) and son Eric were ok and needed a
generator.

Dave, Celeste, Gregg Gozo and some others are on their way there now on
American flight bringing the generator and many emergency supplies.
They have a boat lined up if they cannot get a Tropic Air flight. They
should arrive in Belize City this afternoon around 3pm and be on the island
by evening at least.

If you would like to send cash for people on the island Jerry McVay will be
following Dave out in the next couple of days but can only bring two bags
and a carry on. Please contact him in Grapevine (Dallas), TX at 817-410-8010
or [email protected] if you want to get money to him to take down there.
Much cash will be needed to buy generators, building supplies, boat engines,
etc. The relief coming from official sources will probably not be given to
the gringos, but to the native Belizians. That is why I gave my $$ directly
to Dave who bought many supplies with it: tarps, twine, lanterns, batteries,
etc. Jerry can get it to our friends there who need it. Jerry knows the
island and the people there very well.

Dave has promised to send word as soon as he can about the welfare of
everyone when he arrives.

One other note, my previous posting that placed Libby Vidrine, James, Rick
Castleberry and Dom at the Iguana Gardens was in error. They were not there
with them and the Rick that was there was the police officer Rick who we
think is the one who called Dave. Jerry knows more about the people who were
with Skinny at the Gardens.

You can contact me at [email protected] or 214-544-1444.

I don't know why they are trying to get all off except to decrease the stress on limited resources. Again, this was from a stateside report, and I guess we have to take that with a grain of salt. I'm dying to hear about my home and puddy cats too.

Thanks Pam, you're right about the grain of salt, just in a panic still, of course like everyone who doesn't really know what's going on. i sure hope your cats and loved ones are well and safe.
