been experimenting with pop up killers. some folks have been having x rated
popups just appear when their browser isn't even running. today a lady walked
into our office and there was a detailed acrobatic one up right then.
whoops. so we got a mission to figure these things out and kill them.
here's the best freebie i've seen so far
a piece of software called spybot goes thru ones system and pulls out
anything resembling popup software. a lot of the popup stuff runs
transparently, even sending info back to the company detailing ones browsing
patterns. after running spybot, i went from mass popups all the time to
basically none. i say basically cause its been several hours and i haven't
gotten one yet. normally i would have a bazillion during that period. my son
runs a lot of music downloading software, and one called gator is one of the
WORST. I had about 40 gator pieces in my system. totaled 450+ various
pieces of popup software.
