Love your choice for a honeymoon island - I think you will be quite pleased with the people, sea, reef and memories you create. Caribbean Villas Hotel is popular for honeymooners since it is small (10 suites/rooms), all 10 are beachfront with panoramic views of the sea and reef. The Villas are on 3 acres of land with bird sanctuary and gardens, free bikes, hot tubs, pier with swimming & snorkeling area and great long-time staff. It is quiet due to all the land, no bar or restaurant (but plenty within walking distance) and the resort is a 12-15 minute beach walk from town. Tell them it's for a honeymoon, they have particular suites they book you in. CV will be under $200 per day, ask for a discount from posted prices if you book directly. CV does not accept commissions from guides or tour companies, so you get objective recommendations and bookings and in some cases, cheaper prices. They do not have tubs in the rooms/suites, only showers (large enough for 2). That has been typical on AC in the places we've stayed (you would fit in one of the hot tubs! - one has a sea view and the other is more private behind a Villa). Suites are positioned for sea breezes and have air conditioners. You might also research Victoria House - I am not familiar with their prices or if they have tubs. July/August are generally summer warm and sunny - highs in the low 90's, light breezes/low winds and possibly more buggy, especially at dawn and sunset. Weather is usually great then for water activities - a passing Caribbean tropical wave could bring thundershowers. The sea breezes keep it very comfortable. Up to $200 per night will get you a very nice place in the summer - I think it's mostly researching to find the location and resort that fits your criteria and lifestyle. Happy honeymoon and marriage!

I highly suggest Paradise Resort Hotel ( [email protected]), and they have a web site you can look into. It's on the near north side, a couple minutes walk to the action at San Pedro. Very economical. Top rate is $130, for that you get a giant bed, and twin bed (nice to put the suitcases on), big room, kitchenette, big glass dining room table, TV, breakfast bar, nice bath. Also a porch, with table, covered in bouganvilla and hibiscus. V3 is my favorite, we just left last Tuesday. Trust me, I've been going there for years. You are going to love it. If they know you are on a honeymoon they will go out of their way for you. At Valentines Day this year they put a huge heart on our bed with red bouganvilla brachts. For my birthday, a week later I found my room filled with balloons and flowers and fresh fruit. Trust me...you will get personal treatment there. It so much better than any of the commercial hotels. I think their least expensive rooms, without kitchenette run about $78, but you would have to check on that. Ask Elida, Carolina or Marta at the email address. There is a palapa bar and restaurant, with very good food. It closes early, but you are only minutes walk from all the resturants. Hope you check it out. You will be pleased. Best wishes.

The Blue Tang Inn, top floor, front south unit. Contains rising wooden ceiling with captains windows, jacuzzi tub in bathroom, kingsize bed, kitchenette, seating area and fabulous views. It is not the most isolated nor quietest grounds however, it does seem to more than match your other criteria.
Regardless, my vote still goes to Victoria House for a honeymoon. I wouldn't pay Ramon's prices for what you get at Ramon's but I sure would pay Victoria House rates for what you get at Victoria House.

Marie, is that still a problem? Damn, I thought they'd cooled that.
OK, if that's not been fixed then I take back my recommendation.
The last time I stayed there (it was still Rocks Inn) the music was so loud some nights that my floor was vibrating. This is not always a problem for me, since I'm often not home until the music has stopped anyway.
