Hello Idcanadian;
I am from Vancouver and just returned from AC three weeks ago. I don't know exactly where you live in Canada, but can comment on the Vancouver to Belize leg. Continental Airlines flies from Vancouver at 8:30 am in the mornings to Houston. You do an "overnight" in Houston (at your expense), then get on a Continental flight from Houston at noon, to Belize City International. Then its just a 15 minute hop on a 14-seater Cessna over to AC. The return journey is 5pm from Belize to Houston/change planes and get into Vancouver at 11:30 pm the same day. It is Continental all the way home as well.
I understand the alternate routing from eastern Canada gives you a lay over in Miami on the way down, but I don't know that for a fact.
There are a number of tour groups who offer vacation packages to Belize, but I didn't do my trip that way.
Hope this is helpful!

Hi there.. I am in Toronto and can advise that there are lots of ways to get to San Pedro, AC. It is my opinion that getting there is not the problem, coming home is the problem!! and that problem is that if you are like 90% of those of us 'wanna be's is that you don't want to leave.. :rolleyes: Remember you have been warned. laugh Total Vacations offered package deals this year, via US Airways. check them out www.totatvacations.ca I did not use them as I am very fortunate to have family and friends in San Pedro, but I did fly US Airways. I have also flown Continental, and American Airlines. Depending on the airline, you fly through Charlotte NC, Houston or Miami. When my sister travels to Belize, she flys out of Winnipeg and then joins me in Toronto for the trip but I also know that you can make connections out of Calgary. Bottom line, if you want to get there you can, just a matter of doing your homework as to when, how, and cost. If you are in the area, I can hook you up with my travel agent. She has gotten me good deals whenever I travel. Cheers Gail cool

Hi idcanadian;
We live in Cornwall, Ont. and just retuned from San Pedro. (Check our thread " We is home" on this board.) We flew from Montreal, Dorval on A.A. We got our tickrts on line and think we got a pretty good price, just over $1000.00 Cdn. each, return. If we had waited for some last minute deals we could have done better but we wanted to be sure. A.A. flies every day from Miami to Belize Int. and there is no overnight stay if you arrive before noon. So get on the net and look for bargians, the prospects are limitless. cool
Good luck and enjoy A.C.;
Dan'l

Thanks fellow Candadians,

I am from the Toronto area, and am grateful for your advice, I will use the internet to check fares, I am not that experienced with it but will learn. I have been to Dominican Republic and Mayan Riviera loved both places, heard about Belize and loved the casual, laid back atmosphere. I don't mind AI's, but love to find new places to eat great food, instead of always heading to a buffet table. You can be sure I will be starting to plan my first trip to Belize for this November or Jan/Feb of 2004.

Thanks,
idcanadian

I've seen Belize listed in the CAA tour books in St. Thomas Ont. I believe it was Alba or Sunquest Tours. If you like I can look it up, but try the CAA.

Hey idcanadian,

So far I've always found from Toronto that the cheapest way is to go direct to the AA website and book through there. Last time I did so even the consolidators couldn't beat the price.

Cheers,

Simon
