Looking for a place to stay for a couple of months this summer. It will only be 1 person possibly 2, so it doesn't need to be anything huge. I would prefer on the beach, but it doesn't have to be. I don't really want to spend an arm and a leg, but if I have to I will. Thanks for any ideas.

One idea that has worked out for people in the past is to book your first week or so at a hotel and then spend that time looking for a rental. By doing this, you can get closer to the local market and will get to choose among places that you won't normally find advertised to "tourists".
I suggest you check out the Living In Town thread under the Living In Belize thread.

Otherwise, there of lots of great places advertising monthly rentals on this site and others that will be happy to book you in advance.

I know that Banana Beach does some long term rentals and I believe that the longer you stay you may get a bit of price break. I've checked into it before but unfortunately have yet to be able to stay as long as I wanted. Since the room includes cable TV, maid service once or twice a week (for long term rentals)I don't remember how many days, water/garbage etc. it was I thought a pretty decent deal.
