The San Pedro Turquoise Football Club is looking for a new name. We are having a contest and offering $100 bz and a season pass to all regular home games for the team. Now I know that isn't much of an incentive for football fans like Marty up in Oregon but it is something.

The name/logo should be island oriented. Contest ends April 19th 2003 and winner will be announced in the April 24th edition of the San Pedro Sun. In the case of a draw, the person that submitted the name/logo first will be the winner.

Name/logo can be submitted by fax at 501-226-2282 or email to [email protected] or in person to any Varela Construction Supplies office.

I prefer, Barracudas.
Logo sounds great for the Barracudas.

Oops. Agila mispelt - Aguila is correct spelling. And an alternative to the San Pedro Aguilas - Club Deportivo Aguilas

The soon to be named San Pedro Football Club is also looking for a few other volunteers: photographer to take action pictures during play and someone to take videos of the games. Of course, the volunteers should have their own equipment. The Club will cover volunteers expenses during away games, free entry to all games, credit for shots used in promo materials, etc. Email me at [email protected]

San Pedro Sharks....aggresive and tough like Barracuda but goes better with the s from San Pedro...logo similar to San Jose Sharks of the NHL
(hockey for those non Canadians or hockey buffs!)

If I win I'll keep the pass and donate the 100.00 bucks back to the team. I still miss my hockey after living here 10 years but...futbol is similar and hey...the guys are half naked compared to hockey players!

Hmm, Lori, now ya got me thinking.

How about San Pedro Suns? Goes with the alliteration and could be considered a play on words "suns" and "sons".

If I win, you can have my pass and still donate the money back to the team.
