Has anyone sailed a Hobie Cat through the cut and sailed the lagoon side of the island? Is it worth checking out the lagoon?

You would have to go around the South end of the island unless you wanted to paddle through the cut (no wind in places and a long twisting channel).

The backside is worth doing for high speed flatwater sailing.

The Lagoon is a very nice environment. Birds galore. It is possible to enter the lagoon from the backside or through Boca Del Rio during off hours. It would be advisable to have someone familar with sailing the backside in attendance.
