I was very surprised at how expensive the golf cart rentals are. Actually more than most small car rentals! We are staying right in town. We can most likely walk to everything and then take a cab if we need to go north. So, do we really need to rent a golf cart? What's the average cab fare? Thanks.

You would only need a golf cart if you wanted to cruise around to check out the north and south parts of AC. I think cab rides are $5 BZ.

Driving around in a cart, around AC, is most FUN!!!!! Worth the $$$...C...and can cross the ferry and cruise around North end!!

Right Rick and Cheri - you've gotta get a cart for at least one day and just cruise the whole town, all the south and up the north side as far as the pathways are decent. Hint: Take or wear bugspray for driving out of the main areas of town when going far south or up the north end over the ferry). Check out the neighboorhoods on the west side as well, stop for a soda or snack and conversation with locals along the way at the tiendas and storefront snack shops. Its all good and the only way to truly get the whole wonderful flavor of the town and people. Enjoy!!!
