Can I have fishing lures in my carry on luggage?? I have never seen this addressed here and would like to bring my own if possible.

I would think that would be a question that would need to be directed to your air carrier.

Just had a friend try to exit the US for Belize and Miami airport security confiscated all the lures in carry on. But should not be a problem for checked luggage. Best to call the airline and ask.

Thanks, it makes sense. I wasn't planning on checking any luggage. I plan to take flip flops, shorts, three t-shirts, a couple of fishing rods and my sunscreen in my carry-on. Do I need anything else besides money?? I may ship the lures ahead.

We flew to Belize in June via American and phoned ahead of time with the same question. We got an resounding no as far as taking lures in a carryon. No problem with checked luggage though.
