Wow... what a photo.
We got a peice of that incredible storm today also, and a lightening strike on Caye Caulker. The building where Paradise Down Scuba and The Oceanside Bar was hit.

Is this a "for hire" boat, or private? I guess what I'm asking is whether a few tourists were freaked out by this accident.

Wait until high tide. Get as much gear (weight) off as you can. Lash onto the masthead from another boat and heel her over as far as you can without taking on water. This brings the keel upon the other side and she can be pulled off. Remember, the mast's not as delicate as it looks. It's designed and rigged to withstand enough wind to flip the sucker over. If she's taken on water already they're in trouble.

It'll take a lot longer to repair the reef than the boat.

Anybody know what happened later?

It is still on the reef(i had actually been told it was off)and I presume they are going to wait till high tide and drag it off.
It was a cluster f*** and the boat is now a goner-too much enthusiasm and not enough listening to the sage old men who knew what and how to get the boat off-

If equipment is lacking, you can still send a couple of fat guys up the masts and heel 'er over. Could swing from the halyards to add even more. Sounds like fun actually. Maybe not for the owner.

Dual roller reefing, radar, zodiac on the transom. This old gal is no toy. Hate to see her break up. If it were possible they should pump off the diesel and empty any water tanks. I'd hate to see diesel fuel all over if she doesnt make it. She'd float higher too.

If they could heel 'er over the wind would probably blow her off. Unless the leward side is shallower.
