I am looking for a U.S. REGISTERED CHARITY through which donations can be made directly towards the San Pedro relief effort. Would Lion's club work?? Any information would be welcome.

May want to call your local Red Cross if you need the tax deduction. I believe they have set up some aid for all of Belize. Or you can make a credit card or check donation by <a href: //ambergriscaye.com/towncouncil/keith.html clicking here. These moneys will go directly to AC & CC.
Hope this helps.

Thank you tc, I am still hoping to find an organisation which I would be sure would benefit the community of San Pedro directly. It does need to registered in the States. I am looking forward to hearing back from Helen and finding out more about "Over the Rainbow". Otherwise if anyone knows about a Lion's club option?? I know how important this group is on AC.

Our local Lions Club is checking on transporting containers to Belize right now. We will be sending it to the Lions club at Ambergris Caye. We are trying to make contact with another charity org. in Miami right now for shipping. We will bring the containers to Chicago, and be put on a train to Miami. We are located in Western Michigan. I can let you know when details are finalized.

Scooter, You may want to contact Tim Lake in Monroe, MI. He is trying to coordinate donations and their transportation. Call or email me if you want his info. Thanks, Ryan Sheffield 713-467-6885

The San Pedro Lions Club have their own website, I am sure you could wire them directly with a donation. All the officers and contacts are listed. Right now we are planning on getting donations and then purchasing items to be sent in a semi container box. If you would like to contribute to our local Lions club chapter that would be great also. Our club is very active in the community.

I have spoken with the American Red Cross this am. They recommend monetary donations to the town board or to any relief funds that have been set up for Belize. I believe Marty posted one that is in D.C.
The Red Cross did say they have already donated $25k to the Belizian Red Cross, Keep it coming!!!!! San Pedro needs all we can send them!
