Just curious, has the barge moved yet. The last we heard it was going to move in August.
Or does Belize time apply to that schedule too?

Ten years ago it was moving "next week". Still moving "soon".

I agree with Jesse. I've been coming to San Pedro for about a dozen years, and I'd say for at least the last eight or ten years people (especially folks at the hotels near the dock) have been telling me with sincere assurance that "next month" or "later this summer" the barge will be relocated. It'll happen some day.

I think it's Williams International who has been doing the site work for the replacement location at the back, southwest side of the island. It was going along pretty good for several months, but appeared to have slowed considerably when we were there in June. Several property owners along the current location feel that finally the barge will leave. Can't say it hasn't been, and continues to be interesting, from "entertainment" to an alleged murder, and everything in between

The work has been done by Johnson Int. and all monies have run dry for this project so they have stopped work.

Alert the Media! Pedro is wrong! ..for the time being at least. Work is still in progress on the new marina. I run to it about 3 times a week. I haven't seen any signs of work stopping.

Will the barge move after the marina is completed? Now, that's another question altogether!

Chris,

That is the ultimate question, since CD would be paying fees for use of the new facility, which would be a "bit" of a change if my information is still accurate.
